To recall all 19 subjects during stressful period of the exam, you need to have your notes at your fingertips. Here are some techniques I used that helped me: 1. Understand and Learn. At least wherever you can. There is already too much of factual knowledge to be mugged up. We can reduce that load by understanding the conceptual data. If you end up mugging up things which could have been understood, then at the end, you will end up gaining a huge pile of factual knowledge difficult to recall during the exam. Eg: Suture needed for vascular repair, closing abdominal sheath or mesh hernioplasty needs to be something which stays (ie non absorbable). And hence we prefer Prolene (Non absorbable synthetic suture) Eg: A common Q regarding efficacy of Penicillin  (a Beta-lactam = cell wall Inhibitor)  for different organisms. Making a Study Plan !! A timetable merely mentions the time duration assigned to a particular subject whereas a study plan is more comprehensive. It also defines a methodology to deal with the preparation, planning and problems faced in each subject by an individual. A target should be set, items should be prioritized and an effective timetable should be drawn. Effective refers to a schedule that should be followed religiously with a determination to achieve progress and results. 1.
